microgreens

why is there a white film on my microgreens?

the white “film” you see results from the seed pad drying which can be caused by a lack of water or too much additional light. the seed growth can then push up the drying tissue layer that protects your seeds. to prevent this, simply keep an eye on your microgreens to make sure they are always saturated and that they aren’t impacted by additional light. not to worry though, this tissue will come right off with a little plucking and a rinse under water! with your next seed pack, just be aware of these possible factors that can impact the optimal growth of your greens and you should be good to go.
