(“ingarden”, “we”, or “us”) use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit, interact with or use our website (www.ingardenus.qa.concisesoftware.com) or marketing communications (collectively for the purposes of this Notice, the “Site). This Notice explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use an online service. Cookies are widely used by organizations (like ingarden) in order to make their websites or services work, or to function more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. There are two types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are stored in temporary memory, not retained after an end-user’s browsing session ends and do not obtain information from the end-user’s device. On the other hand, persistent cookies persist on your device in the browser’s subfolder and are activated again once you visit the site that created the particular cookie and remains for the duration period set within the cookie’s file.

Cookies set by the website or service operator are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website or service operator are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies typically enable certain third party features or functionality to be provided on or through websites or services (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognize an individual’s computer both when they visit the website or use the service in question and also when they visits certain other websites.

Third party cookies

Our Site sets several types of third-party cookie, and we do not control the operation of any of them. The third-party cookies that may be set include the following:

  • Google Analytics: We use cookies served by Google Analytics to collect limited data directly from end-user browsers to enable us to better understand your use of the Sites, including making use of the demographics and interests reports services of Google Analytics. Further information on how Google collects and uses this data can be found at google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You can opt-out of all Google supported analytics within the Services by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Kissmetrics: We use Kissmetrics to track and understand website behavior. Kissmetrics uses cookies and other technologies to detect if a particular visitor is a returning visitor or a first-time visitor to that webpage, when the Visitor last visited the page, and related data. For further details, please see Kissmetric’s privacy policy at https://signin.kissmetrics.com/privacy/. You can opt out by following the instructions on the following page: https://signin.kissmetrics.com/privacy/
  • Hootsuite: Hootsuite is a social media management company of Hootsuite Inc. Hootsuite primarily processes data from social media. Because social media content is user-generated, it may contain personal information at any time if you decide to share this information. If you send us a private or direct message via social media, the message will be stored by Hootsuite for three months.
  • Social Media Widgets: Our Site includes social media features such as the Facebook “Like” button and Twitter “Follow” button. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. These social media features are hosted either by a third party or directly on our Site. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the social media company providing such services.
  • Google AdWords: ingarden uses Google’s AdWords service, which uses conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of individual ads, offers, and features. For this, a cookie is set as soon as you click on a Google ad. This cookie does not personally identify you, but rather makes it possible to determine whether you return to the page with the specific offer during the 30-day period in which the cookie is valid. Each AdWords advertiser receives a different cookie. As a result, cookies cannot be tracked via the website of AdWords advertisers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. We track the total number of users who have clicked on an ad and were redirected to the website with a conversion-tracking tag. You can permanently prevent the storage of the Google conversion cookie by setting your browser software accordingly. Google’s privacy policy on conversion tracking can be found here: https://services.google.com/sitestats/en.html.
  • Facebook Custom Audiences: In addition, we also use Facebook Custom Audiences. Facebook Custom Audiences is a Facebook marketing service. It allows us to display personalized and interest-based advertising on Facebook to certain groups of pseudonymized visitors to our website who also use Facebook. A Facebook Custom Audience pixel is integrated into our website. This is a JavaScript code used to store non-personal information about your use of the site. This includes your IP address, the browser you are using, and the source and destination pages. This information is transmitted to Facebook servers in the United States. There, an automatic check is performed to see if you have saved a Facebook cookie. The Facebook cookie automatically determines whether you belong to the relevant target group for us. If you belong to the target group, we will show you relevant ads on Facebook. You will not be personally identified by us or by Facebook as part of this process. You may object to the use of the Custom Audiences service on the Facebook website (https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences). After logging in to your Facebook account, you will be taken to the settings for Facebook ads. For more information on privacy on Facebook, see Facebook’s Privacy Policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation).

What technologies similar to cookies do we use?

Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track users of our Sites. We may use other similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) to track users of our Sites. These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enables us to recognize when someone has interacted with our Sites, such as opening an e-mail that we have sent them. The use of web beacons (or similar technologies) allow us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users within our Sites, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Sites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve our Sites, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

Analytics

ingarden tracks and analyses both individualized usage and volume statistical information related to your use of our Site.

Our third party service providers may also use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your visits to our Sites and/or other third party sites to measure and track the effectiveness of referrals.

How you can control our Site’s use of cookies

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies (apart from those that are required or essential).

You can exercise your preferences in relation to cookies served bysetting or amending your browser controls as described below.

Browser controls: The configuration of most internet browsers allows you to manage cookies, including clearing or blocking their use. Please be aware that disabling cookies can impair optimal navigation of our Site.  As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information.

Disabling most Interest Based Advertising: Most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of Interest Based Advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com. If you are a Canadian visitor, you may click on the AdChoices icon within the ads you see on the web or visit https://youradchoices.ca/.

Opting out of tracking via your mobile device: If you are using a mobile device, you can opt out of having your mobile identifier used for certain types of Interest Based Advertising, including those performed by us, by accessing the settings in your Apple or Android mobile device and following the most recent published instructions. If you opt-out, no further data collection or tracking will occur. This means that if at a later stage, you decide to opt-in, we will not be able to continue and track you using the same ID as before and you will for all practical purposes be a new user to our system.

Do Not Track: Some Internet browsers – like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari – include the ability to transmit “Do Not Track” or “DNT” signals. Since uniform standards for “DNT” signals have not been adopted, our Sites do not currently process or respond to “DNT” signals. ingarden will make efforts to continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard.
